Our fabulous restaurant manager Toryn, started out in the hospitality industry when she was 14, and has worked both front of house and in the kitchen, so she knows how it all works – and comes together – having been an integral part of the team at The Woodhouse for two years now.
Paul describes Toryn as “much loved by staff (and us), with a great personality; punctual, very organised with attention to detail. She always has a smile (except in this serious pic)”.
Her favourite meal is a medium-rare Sher Wagyu Scotch, with no sauce as she likes to “let the steak speak for itself”, paired with a local Cab Sauv. Toryn will ALWAYS recommend ordering dessert, especially the Harcourt apple tarte tartin, but can be swayed easily by a lemon meringue pie; her all-time favourite.
She loves her job, especially engaging guests with some fun banter (and persuading them to order dessert).
You’ll often catch her on the phone if you ring during the afternoon, whilst she is preparing the nightly floor plan for diners that evening.
