Project Description
The saying about bright lights emerging from places of darkness might be said of Glenn Tebble’s creativity. Having lived with cystic fibrosis from a young age, Glenn’s life changed dramatically in 2009 when he was gifted life in the form of a double lung transplant. By then he was an established teacher and practitioner of ceramics and design, having started as a hobby ceramic student over 20 years before.
Initially teaching ceramics and selling works to Melbourne galleries and homeware shops, Glenn’s signature style was quickly recognised as sharp and unique. Glenn Tebble Homewares enabled his complete immersion, initially in ceramics and design, and later in the world of food. Starting out with only half a dozen pieces, and supported by a talented design team, Glenn works closely with leading chefs to produce perfect bespoke pieces for many of Australia’s top restaurants.
Poor health forced Glenn’s extended absence from work in 2014. His crafty mind, always restless for excellent design, reflected on improving his tableware collection, retaining his signature modern, timeless design while enhancing the plates and bowls as organic, modern Australian, free form, and resilient.
We’re proud to use Glenn’s range at The Woodhouse, as they are beautiful free form, organic shaped and shaded pieces; robust, and dishwasher and oven friendly, but also, made right here, at the Bendigo Pottery.
